1. Give apps access to your microphone and camera.

  •  Step 1: Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera on the left-hand pane, and turn on Allow Apps to Access Your Camera.

2. Give Skype access to your webcam and microphone  

Next, check that Skype has authorization to access your device’s camera and microphone.

  • Step 1: Select Camera in the left pane of Settings > Privacy. Go to the “Choose which apps can access your camera” section in the right-hand pane and turn ON the slider next to Camera.

  • Step 2: Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and turn on the slider next to Skype.

  • Step 6: Restart Skype

5. Reset Network Configuration   

Problems with the network can sometimes prevent Skype from operating correctly. As a result, use the commands below to resolve network-related issues on your computer.

  • Step 1: Open a Command Prompt window and type ipconfig /release, then press Enter. This will reveal your computer’s current IP address.

  • Step 4: Restart your computer after closing the Command Prompt window.
