Issue:
Fix Microsoft One Drive loading issues, improve system performance. In this blog you will learn how to Fix Microsoft One Drive loading issues.
Environment:
Microsoft One Drive
Solution:
1. Re-establish Sync
To reestablish sync, exit the OneDrive desktop app from your system and sync it again in order to resolve an issue.
● Step 1: Right click the ‘Blue Cloud’ icon from the notifications area
● Step 2: Click Close OneDrive
● Step 3: Restart the system.
2. Check The File Path
If the file path is too long, you might face syncing issues. Because, Microsoft guidelines allow a maximum of 255 characters, including the filename.
So, check the complete pathname if a file won’t sync or won’t let you collaborate or load.
When using nested directories, the route can become excessively long. To solve the problem, move the file to a higher-level folder or rename it.
3. Rename the File
Special characters in a file name are sometimes supported online but not offline. This can lead to loading problems. If any of your file names contain special characters like ” * : < > ? / \ |, rename the file by removing the special characters.
To rename a file,
● Step 1: Right-click on the file
● Step 2: Select Rename
● Step 3: Hit Enter
Once you changed the file name, resync the file again and try reloading.
More information on file name restrictions can be found here: Invalid file names and file types.

● Step1: Right-click on the OneDrive icon and select Properties.
● Step 2: Select Security > System.
● Step 3: Check if your name is present under Administrators and if you have full access.
● Step 4: If the Deny option is enabled, change it to Allow.
